Our Brit-Funk heroes Incognito are back with a brilliant new single release entitled ‘Send Your Love’, available to download on iTunes now. The song, recorded in the space of just a few days, is Incognito’s contribution to the efforts to raise money for the Nepal earthquake victims, with all the proceeds from the song being donated to UNICEF’s Nepal relief fun. The earthquake that struck Nepal a month ago has devastated the country killing 8,000 people, destroying infrastructure and industry, leaving many more homeless and broke.
Written by Incognito’s founder Jean-Paul Maunick, aka Bluey, and Richard Bull, it has that classic Incognito sound: a full and pounding bass, Bluey’s trademark guitar playing, and those incredible Incognito horns. Tony Momrelle, Vanessa Hayes, Imanni, Natalie Williams and Katie Leone provide the vocals here, doing a fine job singing this particularly catchy lyric. It’s a great song for a great song, and included in the single release is the JD73 remix which keeps all the classic Incognito elements but gives the song a dance makeover, including some eighties groove elements that work really well. There’s not really a lot you can write about a new Incognito release except that you should listen to it, because it’s very good and in this case you should purchase the single, because it’s helping such a worthwhile cause.
It is estimated by UNIEF that 1.7 million children need assistance in Nepal following the earthquake, and it is morally abhorrent the little the rich countries of the world have given to the stricken country in its hour of need. TFSR donates to UNICEF monthly, and we would urge to purchase this brilliant new single from Incognito and help raise money to provide relief to those in desperate need right now. You can purchase the song on iTunes here, and you can stream it below via SoundCloud. For more information on UNICEF’s Nepal relief mission and to donate click here.
Bluey has released this message for all Incognito fans:
‘In response to the great tragedy suffered by the people of Nepal, we felt compelled to use our talents and resources to take immediate action by coming together to make a song for Nepal. All the funds raised will be donated to UNICEF(US) to help some of the 1.7 million children who require humanitarian assistance. UNICEF is already on the ground working to provide critical aid to children and families. The results of our effort is… Incognito “Send Your Love,” Your support will go a long way towards helping to provide basic health care, nourishment, sanitation, shelter and funds towards the clearing and rebuilding in the aftermath of this devastating earthquake. Thank you and One Love.’ – Bluey
