Following from the runaway success of last year’s UK tour, the Empress of Soul Gladys Knight returns to the British Isles to perform her greatest hits.
You wait an age for one Gladys Knight tour, and then two come along at once. We’re delighted to bring you news that the Empress of Soul Gladys Knight is set to perform four dates this summer in the UK, taking in London, Leeds, Nottingham and Glasgow. This latest round of dates follows from her tour last summer, her first UK tour in more than five years. She impressed many, including us, last year and we’re expecting more great things from this incredible songstress this time around.
Famous for working with her backing group The Pips, Gladys Knight is truly one of the legends of soul music. Her hits such as ‘I Heard It Through The Grapevine’, ‘Best Thing That Ever Happened To Me’, and, of course, ‘Midnight Train to Georgia’ have stood the test of time, and cemented Knight as one of the greatest singers of all time. She has recently released a brand new single, reportedly taken a new album of original material, and has completed an American tour with Philly Soul icons The O’Jays. She may be in her seventh decade, but the Empress shows no signs of slowing down.
Gladys Knight is set to tour the UK later this year. Tickets go on sale on Friday 9AM, and you can find more information on the tour using the links below.
