There’s nothing we love more than a rare but of groove here at TFSR, and have we found a slice of rare groove for you. Herely Johnson, Jr.’s Do It is absolutely incredible; released in 1982, the song features some delicious guitar and synth work, and a catchy vocal. I first discovered the song on one of John Morales’ 1982 mix-tapes he produced for the legendary New York radio station WBLS, which is available to hear, here.

Normally I’d give you a bit of background on the song, but I cannot find any information on it elsewhere except on Discogs, which lists the song as being released in 1982 on the Canadian RFC Record label.

This is an incredible piece of groove, and is available on Spotify and on iTunes – so check it out! Could you help us out? If you know anything about the song tweet us @funksoulrevue, or drop us an email: haff@thefunkandsoulrevue.com
